The 16 Personality Types of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Test On Monday when I was looking for something to do to break up homework assignments I had remembered something a friend had said to me earlier that day. "What is your personality type?" And I had no way to answer because I had never taken the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Test (or MBTI for short). So after a long time of putting it off because I didn't like the idea of taking a 100 question quiz, I finally took the time to do it.  For some context, the MBTI is a test that evaluates the makeup of one's personality. The results are split into 16 categories with each result holding its own insights into the core values of who it belongs to. There are also four groups within the 16 that pair up the types based on similar traits. These groups are called the analysts, diplomats, sentinels, and explorers. Cooking is one of the few things I can really say I have a talent for. Most traditional talents are something flashy that can be shown off to a crowd. However, most of my talents are slower skill-based things that I have picked up over time. These include public speaking, understanding emotions, being quick to learn games and of course cooking. Although this isn't something I can show off to people often, it is a talent I take a lot of pride in.  To me cooking is a lot like art. It starts out with an idea. I have something I have a taste for so I want to make it. So like art, I have to think about how I would make this dish. Once I think about how to make it, then comes the preparation. I gather all the ingredients I need and lay them out like paints, organized by type and rough order I'll use them. Then I can actually get to work on making the dish itself. A group picture of the 2023 Homecoming Court and friends Last week was the annual Homecoming weekend for Ohio Northern University. This is a time of celebration of those who have graduated from our university in the past and have come back to catch up with old friends and new students. For current students, our various organizations host tables and events to catch up with our former members and show off to the community what we've been up to. But one event in particular celebrates those in the community whose peers have elevated them as a point of pride for the whole university to see: The Homecoming Court. The Homecoming Court is a group of 10 students elected by their peers to represent their organization and stand for a chance to be crowned homecoming royalty. This is a campus-wide event that draws in all students to decide who they want to represent the spirit of ONU. It is a small and short event time wise, but it is special nonetheless.
